Introducing Gaylord Chiropractor Dr. Gary Saks

Gaylord chiropractor Dr. Gary Saks

I am still amazed at all the conditions that chiropractic care can help! It surprised me when I was a patient, but even more so when I became a doctor.

The reason I became a chiropractor was that as a patient I was impressed at what chiropractic did for me.  I had a headache that lasted for six months.  I went to a chiropractor and in very short order, the headache disappeared.  Rarely do I have them now, and that was 35 years ago!

I graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in 1976. I received the traditional chiropractic education coming away with the Palmer Package of adjusting techniques.  However, while attending Palmer I developed a passion for Applied Kinesiology (AK) and clinical nutrition.  In fact, I was the Founder and President of the Palmer Applied Kinesiology Club.  Currently, I am board qualified in AK.  I learned from the creator of the technique, Dr. George Goodheart, I have logged in over 1000 hours of post graduate education in the realm of clinical nutrition.

I feel that our current health model is going down the wrong road.  Healthy living isn't just about taking care of problems quickly when they arise.  Health actually comes down to a day by day, moment by moment decision on how we conduct our lives and treat our bodies.  The key to living healthy is to prepare your body to run in an optimal state.  Chiropractic care, proper nutrition and exercise are just a few of the essential components for well being.  Chiropractic care is the largest health care delivery system that doesn't use drugs or surgery.  It is gentle and works in harmony with the body, and does not cause side effects.

A key component to health is having a good home life.  I  am very fortunate in this aspect.  My wife Jody and I have been married for over 24 years.  We have two adult children who both live in Austin, Texas.  We also have two Labs---Arlo and Nala, and a cat named Zooey.

Not only do I help people live a healthy lifestyle, but I live one myself.  I am a vegetarian and I exercise daily.  Whenever I need to address particular health issues, I always seek the natural solution.  It is my belief that the less pharmaceutical interaction you utilize the better.  It is important to me to balance the physical, mental and spiritual aspect of who I am.

I consider myself an excellent listener and hope I get the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenge. Give our office a call or email me with the link below.

Dr. Gary Asks some important questions of interest to Gaylord residents - Chiropractor Gaylord Dr. Gary Asks...

Why are frequent visits advised when starting chiropractic care?
Consistent visits at the beginning of your chiropractic care help create the momentum necessary to correct and retrain unhealthy spinal patterns. Later, Gaylord patients find that continued care on a less frequent visit schedule can help preserve their progress and avoid a relapse.
What is the significance of "growing pains?"
Chiropractors know that aches or pains at any age mean something's not right. In fact, many children go through stages of growth without aches or pains. So while "growing pains" may be common, they're not normal. That's why our Gaylord chiropractic practice sees lots of children. A chiropractic checkup for your child can often help detect and correct problems that are more difficult to correct in Gaylord adults.
